Kendall Jenner GRILLED About Her Sexual Orientation In Vogue: ‘I’m NOT Gay — I Have Literally Nothing To Hide!’ | Allcharts.co.za
Why?? Well, we aren’t entirely sure.
For her candid chat with the fashion mag, the supermodel was unsurprisingly grilled about her love life. When asked about her reported romance with NBA star Blake Griffin, the KUWTK starlet remained coy the relationship. When it was revealed to interviewer Jonathan Van Meter that she was in Michigan (FUN FACT: Griffin is the Detroit Pistons‘ power forward), Kenny J. noted that she was “visiting a friend.”
In fact, the writer penned exactly this:
“Kendall Jenner—a tomboy who collects vintage cars, prefers sneaks and jeans and a hoodie, and rolls with a squad of mostly guys—is not gay. Indeed, she is dating Blake Griffin, the Detroit Pistons power forward. She refuses to confirm this fact, but one of the reasons we can be fairly certain is that the day after Valentine’s Day she calls me from Michigan, and when I ask why she’s there she says coyly, ‘I’m visiting a friend.'”
This response did not satisfy the writer, as he asked the A-lister point-blank if she has a boyfriend. Despite the direct question, Stormi Webster‘s aunt replied:
“I like my private life…Yeah . . . no. I’m happy. He’s very nice. I have someone being very nice to me.”
Here’s where things take an inneresting turn, Van Meter seemed hell bent on getting Kendall to address the gossip on the internet that suggests she is gay or maybe bisexual. In response to being asked why “the internet seem[s] to think [she’s] gay,” the brunette stunner explained:
“I think it’s because I’m not like all my other sisters, who are like, ‘Here’s me and my boyfriend!’ So it was a thing for a minute because no one ever saw me with a guy. I would always go that extra mile to be low-key with guys, sneaking around all the time. You don’t want to, like, look crazy.”
And, for those of you who are wondering, Kendall identifies as heterosexual. She continued:
“I don’t think I have a bisexual or gay bone in my body, but I don’t know! Who knows?! I’m all down for experience—not against it whatsoever—but I’ve never been there before… Also, I know I have kind of a . . . male energy? But I don’t want to say that wrong, because I’m not transgender or anything. But I have a tough energy. I move differently. But to answer your question: I’m not gay. I have literally nothing to hide. I would never hide something like that.”
As father Caitlyn Jenner came out as transgender in 2015 after years of living as Bruce, we’re certain it’s important for Kendall to live her truth openly. Regardless, it’s not our business to press for an answer out of the superstar. Speaking of Kendall’s dad, it seems they have very different political beliefs.
On Donald Trump winning the presidential election, Jenner relayed:
“It’s very un-motivating. There are things happening that are just so . . . horrible . . . that it makes you not want to participate in anything. I’ve had days lately where I just want to sit in my bed and do nothing. It makes you scared to go out. It’s a complete nightmare. And I wish I had the power to fix it all.”
Same, girl. Same. However, even amid the Trumpster’s disappointing presidency, Kendall is aware that a change is in the wind. Although Kendall doesn’t have a #MeToo story to share, she does stand with the women fighting to make a difference:
“Luckily, I haven’t been put into a situation like that ever in my life. I’ve heard about it for so long, I get it. I can try and understand it…. But that being said, I think that it’s so powerful that, in a time that’s so . . . shitty, for lack of a better word . . . it’s just really cool and empowering to see a bunch of women come together and say we’re not going to stand for this—we’re not taking it lightly; we are going full force. That’s what I find so inspiring.”
Hear! Hear! Of course, like many of the women in her family, Jenner isn’t a stranger to controversy.
As you may recall, the It-girl was hit with an immense amount of criticism for her tone deaf Pepsi commercial. On the scandal, she recalled:
“Obviously, my intention was not to hurt anyone. Honestly, I just hid out. It hurt me that I hurt other people.” She thinks for a minute. “I’ve been yelled at before, stepped in controversy before, but nothing to that extent. You can never really prepare for something like that… Nobody came to me to explain it to where I was like, Oh, I get it. But I’m not an idiot. I can see it for myself.”
Thankfully, Kendall has the close knit KarJenners to lean on in a time of crisis. And the famous fam certainly stick together. Case in point, the silence they held regarding Kylie Jenner‘s super secret baby. Kendall couldn’t be happier to be an auntie again, as she dished:
“It’s not that it’s more exciting than any other births in the family—it’s different exciting, because she’s my baby sister who I grew up with. We all grew up in twos: Kourtney and Kim grew up together; Rob and Khloé; Brandon and Brody; Burton and Casey, and then Kylie and I. So to see my best friend growing up have a baby? It’s already made us even closer.”
Awwwww. On whether she’s ready to start a brood of her own, Kendall quipped:
“I am ready to wait. I want to have kids, but at, like, 28 or 29.”
Sounds good to us!
